...mum of 7, Childbirth Educator and Birth Trauma Release Practitioner. I’m passionate about helping women and couples experience their best birth by providing a broad range of effective tools together with loads of relevant and targeted information. My favorite motto says it all - This Is your baby’s birthday -be prepared!
I was motivated to enter the professional world of birth education after having experienced an intense and overwhelming first birth with my twins. They were born prematurely via c-section and then hospitalized for 4 weeks post-birth which left me to navigate the British National Health System and make important decisions alone - in my vulnerable, post-partum state - without enough information and no professional support. I promised myself then, that one day (when I would be past the initial challenges of raising my twins!) I would do whatever was in my power to support other women through their birth journey and beyond.
After giving birth to my next son with the help of an epidural, I began the first stage of my antenatal training with Esther Marilus, founder of The Swiss Method. Following a wonderfully serene water-birth with child number 4, I finally felt empowered to approach my subsequent births from a place of confidence - secure in my ability to understand my body, my needs and my rights. Over the next several years I continued training and enriching my knowledge-base, alongside raising my children and having 3 more wonderful birth experiences (despite one child being born in the car!) and can truly say that I loved my births.
My training has been invaluable in helping me keep my babies safe in varying circumstances whilst ensuring my births were tailor-made to suit my personal requirements and preferences.
My aspiration is for every woman to be able to approach her birth journey from a place of confidence and empowerment. You never know where your journey will lead you and cannot control the process, however you can control the way you manage it. With you in mind, my training is in constant motion; I aim to provide my women with many different tools and techniques to support different personalities, birth settings, experiences and needs, in order to make their journey as smooth and safe as possible.
Along the path of my own journey of professional development, I became part of the founding team of Menucha – a charity providing perinatal mental health support in North West London, UK – in consonance with my quest to provide a safety-net of emotional support for my clients and community. This involvement in turn, led to my training as a Birth Trauma Resolution Practitioner.
For many years it has been my dream to set up an online childbirth education course that can be accessed in the comfort of your own home, in your own time and alongside your husband or birth support, in line with tznius sensitivities. I am excited for you to become part of the Birth Journeys family!
